Information about our PTA

Amble Links First School PTA

In its time Amble Links PTA has raised thousands of pounds which have been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities in school in general. The PTA is also a great way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school. It is fun too – as we are sure you will find out if you join us at one of the varied events throughout the school year. Members of the PTA give their time voluntarily for the benefit of every child in the school.

The majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run. Some of our most popular events are the Christmas Fair, Halloween Disco, Movie Nights and the Summer fair. Other activities that we organise include domino cards during Friday assemblies, refreshments for Sports day and the very popular adults Quiz nights!

We’re always on the lookout for other good fundraising ideas too, so be sure to let us know if you have any suggestions.

Decisions on what items are to be purchased from PTA funds are made during PTA meetings. Requests can come from parents, teachers or children. Normally the PTA like to purchase the little extras that are not covered by school budgets but make school more enjoyable for our children. We also save up for larger projects such as the playground equipment and remarking of the playground.

There are lots of ways you can help and support your child through the PTA. Some members come regularly to meetings, others offer help for events, or bake cakes and biscuits to sell, whilst others may not have so much time to offer but make donations of raffle and tombola prizes. Or you can simply come along to the meetings and give us your ideas for fundraising events. It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis.

The PTA meets at least once a term to arrange our fund-raising activities throughout the school year. Our first informal meeting will be Sunday 20th September at The Old Storehouse, Amble at 4pm and you would all be very welcome to join us.

By joining in the activities of the PTA you can find out more about how the school works and get to know other parents and staff at the school. Every year we need new parents to join the PTA so if you’d like to get involved in any way please contact us either through the school or come along to a meeting.

We look forward to meeting you at our events,

Amble Links PTA
