Year 2 Autumn 1

Year 2  Autumn 1– Computing systems and networks - Information Technology around us.

In this unit, the children will look at information technology at school and beyond, in settings such as shops, hospitals, and libraries. They will investigate how information technology improves our world, and learn about using information technology responsibly.

Online Safety

The children will learn to recognise common uses of information technology beyond school. Use technology safely and respectfully, keeping personal information private; identify where to go for help and support when they have concerns about content or contact on the internet or other online technologies in the context of looking at how much information we can find out about a person online.
They will understand that the information they put online leaves a 'digital footprint'.

Useful Vocabulary

Information technology - all forms of technology used to create, store, exchange, and use information in its various forms (business data, voice conversations, still images, motion pictures, photos, multimedia presentations, and other forms, including those not yet conceived).
