Jellyfish Summer 2 2019 Newsletter
We will begin this half term with our topic Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. We will be researching specific animals and developing our scientific knowledge of different animal groups. The children will find out about the diets of carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.
We will be using a range of non-fiction texts to find out about animals and listening to stories and poems with an animal theme.
The children we create group fact files about animals before writing a fact file of their own. Why not find out more about different animal groups using the link below.
In maths we will be consolidating our learning of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Why not play Hit The button to practise your number facts.
We will be using clocks to tell the time to the hour and half hour. You can help your child by talking about the time in your daily activities at home.
We will complete our dance topic with animal themed movements and then develop our skills in athletics.
We will be finding out about animals that live in hot and cold locations around the world and how they adapt to their habitats.
We will be completing our ABC Creative music journey and learning songs about animals to perform in our class assembly. Why not listen to this song and join in!

Art and Design
We will use a range of techniques to create animal themed art and develop skills using paper techniques to make animal models.
Children can complete their homework projects on any animal theme. Why not make a model, find out about a particular animal or write about your pet. The children love sharing and seeing these projects and we look forward to seeing the completed projects in school later this half term.
